(More customer reviews)In my kit, the finishing nailer was refurbished, the rest new. It didn't work at all out of the box. It was so bad it almost surely didn't work when it left the repair center. Porter Cable (PC) would not take the unit back; I had to take it to a repair center which meant taking time off of work. When I picked it up, they said a part was missing, that they couldn't repair it, and that it could not have worked when it left the repair facility. I contacted PC again and they sent me a prepaid return mailing label and exchanged it for a new unit in retail packaging. In the end, PC did the right thing but I'm still annoyed that I had to invest three hours of my time to get it resolved.
Now that everything works, it seems to be of decent quality. the compressor is loud, but the largish tank and high pressure are very, very nice. Overall, if I had it to do over again, I'd probably go for the Bostich set for approximately the same price, but I'm happy with the set that I have.
