(More customer reviews)Overall I Absolutely love the nails - Rings on bottom really grip fiberous wood (i.e. 2 x 4-6-8) while the spiral at the top grips the Sheathing ( OSB or Plywood.) I used them on a large garage / shed and once the first on has been driven in there is no going back. 50% of the time if I tried to pull a nail out with a hammer the head will bend or break off. A++ ++ for holding power.
What I didn't like.
I am a mechanical Engineer and have worked as a packaging engineer. Problem is that Amazon is using the Bostitch box to send the Nails UPS / FedEx etc, something it was never designed for. Box is perfect for being stacked on a pallet and shipped to a home improvement store, but it can't take the rough automated handling of a major shipper. Problem is nails come COLLATED on plastic strips that are designed to break when being shot from the nail gun. Result is that when the box gets bumped around and crushes (in my case 1" dent in one corner) all the nail STRIPS in that corner get broken into shorter lengths which often jam in my F21PL Nailer.Bostitch F21PL Round Head 1-1/2-Inch to 3-1/2-Inch Framing Nailer with Positive Placement Tip and Magnesium Housing Reason for jam is that nail spacing is off. Amazon has not clued in that these "nails" are fragile. If Amazon is going to sell them by the box, then they need to ship them inside another box with a good 2+" or styrofoam around them.
A note to the people at Bostitch if you are reading. Please add large print to your box saying " this box is not intened for shipment by UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL or other courier. Or if you want to sell to Amazon, create a custom shipable box for them. ( This dislike is aimed at the packaging not the nails - Minus one star.)
Also the nails rust easily if left in direct contact with water. I have had the nails in my basement for 2 years and no rust issues. I just built a shed and ran out of time to get it shingled the same day. The next morning there were dime sized rust spots around each nail head. In comparison the framing nails had some minor rust but no where near as much as the Huriquake nails. Also a few sticks got left out overnight in the rain and had excessive surface rust compared to the framing nails. ( minus a second star)Next box I buy will be the galvenized version.
In Summary - Nails great - Packaging for UPS etc courier shipment needs beefing up - don't let them get wet.
When this box is empty I will be buying another.
