(More customer reviews)First off. I do not do roofing full time, I am a remodeler, I do a few houses a year. The guy I work with has the Hitachi NV45AB but we needed to have another gun this fall. I buy nothing but high quality tools, and most professional roofers use the Hitachi. I did a lot of comparing before I decided on this gun. The thing that got me was the price, I got a very good deal on this gun from the contractor tool store.
After using this gun and the Hitachi NV45AB on three roofs last month(about 100 square), here are my observations. (I have used the Hitachi for a few years)
The Milwaukee is lighter without a doubt, much nicer to carry around all day.
The nail loading mechanism is much nicer on the Milwaukee. You only have to open the feed flip, and the coil comes open too. The hitachi has a separate clip to open the coil, and it is underneath so you have to turn the gun upsidedown to load it. (that may seem like not a big deal, but when you are putting in a new coil every 5 minutes it is a big deal)(I believe hitachi's new nailer has the side load mechanism as well)
The rubber side grips are nice, it will stay on a 7/12 pitch.
You can move the shingle guide without an allen wrench.
It shot 1-3/4 nails much better than the hitachi.
I am not sure why they put sequential and bump firing modes on this gun. If you want to have any speed at all you will always use bump mode. Anyways, that isnt a problem, it just seems strange on a roofing gun.
It is comfortable to use, and I never had any jams. It comes with a nice molded case.
